â©What can I expect to do in this role?
â©As a Software Development Officer, you will:â©â©
â©
- review software developed by contractors and other team members
- develop and conduct end user training sessions on information technology
- provide equipment trouble-shooting services
- prepare and document procedures and guidelines
- perform response system functions at the Response Centre or field operations
â©â©Please Note: This position requires the ability to travel to remote locations.

- You have knowledge of personal and server computer systems technologies, operating systems, application software and system testing protocols.
- You have knowledge of current client server technologies and the principles of information systems development.
- You have knowledge of computer equipment operation, cabling connections and installation procedures.
â©Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- You can assess client information and systems needs to assist in developing cost effective information management solutions.
- You have the ability to assist in the development of alternative system applications.
- You can evaluate technical problems, troubleshoot computer component issues and develop solutions.
- You can research new software and hardware products and make recommendations for potential application for clients.

- You have the ability to conduct interviews to obtain information on client requirements and create reports, options and operating plans.
- You have well developed communications skills to provide advice, training and make recommendations.
- You have well developed interpersonal skills to explain technical solutions to non-technical clients.

â©Effective, January 1, 2022, the updated salary range for this position is $1,161.81 to $1,424.71 per week in alignment with the recently ratified OPSEU Unified 2022-2024 collective agreement.
